For mentors

Mentor Terms

The rules for mentors who offer sessions on the platform. These apply in addition to the Terms & Conditions.

Effective 25 October 2026 · Last updated 25 October 2026

1. What a mentor does

A mentor offers one-to-one and group sessions that candidates book to get guidance on interviews and careers. You give honest, specific guidance. You never promise a job, an interview, or any outcome.

2. Approval and verification

You can offer sessions only after you have completed your mentor profile and we have approved you. To be approved you must give us your PAN and your bank account details, and we must verify both. These are used only to check who you are and to pay you, and are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Give true details. A profile, PAN or bank account that is not yours or not accurate can lead to rejection or suspension.

3. Your sessions and your price

  • You create your own sessions: one-to-one sessions that candidates book, and group sessions with a minimum and maximum number of people. A session can repeat daily or weekly for as long as you choose.
  • You set the price of each session, or offer it for free. The price is shown to candidates before they pay.
  • ShortlistOne takes no fee from the price you set. Whatever a candidate pays for your session is the amount you earn from it, less any charge made by the payment gateway or required by law.
  • A candidate can book a one-to-one session any time until it starts.

4. Payment and payouts

Candidates pay through PayU on its secure payment page. You do not take payment from a candidate yourself, and you must not ask a candidate to pay you outside the platform.

We pay your earnings out by bank transfer to the bank account you gave us and we verified, after the session has taken place. You can see your sessions and earnings in your mentor dashboard. If a payout is late or wrong, write to support@shortlistone.com.

5. Cancelling and no-shows

  • If you cancel a session, or you do not attend, each candidate who paid gets a full refund.
  • A cancelled session or a no-show counts against your account. After repeated cancellations we may suspend your account.
  • Edit or cancel a repeating series with care: you choose whether a change applies to one session or to the whole series.

A candidate who cancels 24 hours or more before the session gets a full refund; later than that they get none. The full rules are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. How you must behave

  • Treat every candidate with respect. No harassment, discrimination or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Never ask a candidate for money, personal documents, passwords or any private details outside what the session needs.
  • Do not record a session unless everyone in it agrees.
  • Do not misuse a candidate's information. Use it only for the session.
  • Do not claim experience, employers or qualifications you do not have.

7. Reviews and reports

Candidates can leave reviews, and anyone can report a mentor. We may review reports and reviews, and may remove a profile or suspend an account where the rules here have been broken.

8. Suspension and ending

We may suspend or close a mentor account for a breach of these terms, unlawful conduct, or where the law requires. You can stop offering sessions at any time; sessions already booked must be held or cancelled under section 5. To close your account, write to support@shortlistone.com.
